Tim Sylvia Signs With Strikeforce to Face Daniel Cormier on September 29th

Former UFC heavyweight champion, Tim Sylvia received his wish and has been granted another shot in the big leagues, after it was revealed he signed with Strikeforce to face world grand-prix champion, Daniel Cormier on September 29th, 2012. The fight could be the last heavyweight bout for the promotion, making it even more important for “The Maine-iac” to come out on top.

Cormier fast tracked to the top of the Strikeforce heavyweight division after winning the promotions world grand-prix tournament, defeating Antonio “Big Foot” Silva in the semi-finals before picking up a unanimous decision win over Josh Barnett in the final.

Sylvia has won seven of his last eight bouts and has made an appeal to the fans for his return to the major leagues of mixed martial arts. A twelve second TKO win over Randy Smith must have caught the eye of the California based promotion and he was granted that plea.
