Jon Olav Einemo Retires From the Sport of MMA Following Recent Cut by the UFC

Norwegian mixed martial artist and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, Jon Olav Einemo has today revealed that he has decided to retire from the sport of mixed martial arts, just days after being cut from the UFC roster.

Einemo told Norwegian new outlet, VG Nett on Tuesday that he could have returned to the UFC with a few wins, but decided against it as he would like to spend more time with his family. He said he will continue to give back to the sport as a coach and help the growth in his native country of Norway.

Einemo competed twice in the octagon, making his debut at UFC 131, losing via TKO to Dave Herman. He returned at UFC on FOX 2 and was smothered by Mike Russow on the way to a unanimous decision loss.
