Eddie Alvarez vs. Shinya Aoki II at Bellator 66 Expected for April 20th

Former Bellator lightweight champion, Eddie Alvarez will take on current DREAM lightweight champion, Shinya Aoki in a rematch over three years in the making at Bellator 66 expected to go down on April 20th at a location yet to be announced. The two men originally met back in December 2008 with Aoki submitting Alvarez in just 92 seconds with a heel-hook.

Alvarez won the first Bellator season and the lightweight title in the process. He held the championship for two years until he lost to Michael Chandler via submission in the fourth round just last November at Bellator 58, a fight considered one of the best fights of the year.

Aoki will make his Bellator debut riding a seven-fight winning streak. He’s fought twice in the U.S. in the past under the Strikeforce banner, losing to Gilbert Melendez and defeating Lyle Beerbolm.
