Cung Le vs. Rich Franklin Likely to Headline UFC on FUEL 6 in Macau, China

Former Strikeforce middleweight champion, Cung Le will indeed headline UFC on FUEL 6 in Macau, China on November 10th, 2012, against the man he was originally slated to face before injuries placed the fighters elsewhere, former UFC middleweight champion, Rich Franklin. The two were set to fight at UFC 148 until the bout was scrapped to make other matchups.

UFC President, Dana White, speaking at today’s press conference in Calgary, said:

“If he (Le) fights in China, he will fight Rich Franklin.”

Le started his octagon career on the wrong foot, losing a second round TKO to Wanderlei Silva. He rebounded just last month with a unanimous decision win over former title contender, Patrick Cote.

Franklin has won three of his last six fights inside the octagon, his latest win coming at UFC 148 with a unanimous win over Wanderlei Silva for the second time. Prior to that he lost to Forrest Griffin at UFC 126 via unanimous decision.
