UFC on FX 6 in Australia, Hector Lombard vs. Rousimar Palhares Headlines

UFC President, Dana White announced today that former Bellator champion, Hector Lombard is headed to his adopted home country to headline UFC on FX 6 opposite ankle lock specialist, Rousimar Palhares. UFC on FX 6 is scheduled for December 15th in an Australian city and venue still to be determined. The card is also expected to feature the final bouts in the soon-to-debut “The Ultimate Fighter: Australia vs. U.K.” series.

Due to the time difference, the card takes place in Australia on Saturday morning and airs live in North America on Friday night. The event’s main card airs live on FX, and preliminary-card fights are expected to air on FUEL TV and stream on Facebook.

Lombard will look to rebound after a lackluster debut against Tim Boetsch at 149. After three rounds, Boetsch earned a unanimous decision and spoiled the much anticipated debut of the Aussie. Weeks later, Lombard announced via Twitter that he had gone into the fight with an injury – torn cartilage between his rib cage and sternum.

Palhares will also look to rebound following a first-round TKO loss to Alan Belcher at UFC on FOX 3, which snapped a three-fight win streak. The ankle lock specialist previously defeated Dave Branch, Dan Miller and Mike Massenzio.
