Jon Jones Was Going To Pay UFC 151 Fighters, Until The Trash Talk Started

UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones has revealed he had every intention of paying the salaries of each and every fighter who missed out thanks to his decision not to face Chael Sonnen on just 8 days notice at UFC 151 from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, which was set for tonight, Saturday, September 1st, 2012.

Jones turned down the short notice replacement bout against Chael Sonnen, presumably after being told by an angry UFC President Dana White that if he did so, the entire event would be cancelled just over one week before it was scheduled to take place.

The entire situation has been a nasty one. White and the UFC embarked on what seemingly has turned the MMA world against “Bones”. They issued press releases with quotes like, “UFC 151 will always be the event remembered as the one Jon Jones and Greg Jackson MURDERED.” It wasn’t just White and the UFC, as the fellow UFC 151 fighters started blasting him for the fact that some of them who were scheduled to compete on the card were going to miss out on much needed paychecks to feed their families.
