UFC on FOX 4 Official Salaries, Injuries and Medical Suspensions

Former light heavyweight champion’s, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida topped the salary list for last weekends UFC on FOX 4 from Los Angeles, California with the duo earning $240,000 and $200,000 respectively.

Other high earners included welterweight returnee, Mike Swick, $86,000, the other half of the main event, Brandon Vera, $70,000 and lightweight submission machine, Joe Lauzon, $48,000.

The California State Athletic Commission has also revealed the medical suspensions following the event with Jamie Varner, Mike Swick and Oli Thompson picking up six month suspensions. Also making the list with a forty-five day suspension the main event duo of Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Brandon Vera, and “Ultimate Fighter” season eight winner, Ryan Bader.

Mauricio Rua: $240,000 ($170,000 to show, $70,000 to win)
Brandon Vera: $70,000

Lyoto Machida: $200,000 ($200,000 to show, no win bonus)
Ryan Bader: $47,000

Joe Lauzon: $48,000 ($24,000 to show, $24,000 to win)
Jamie Varner: $12,000

Mike Swick: $86,000 ($43,000 to show, $43,000 to win)
DeMarques Johnson: $18,000

Nam Phan: $20,000 ($10,000 to show, $10,000 to win)
Cole Miller: $21,000

Wagner Prado: $16,000
Phil Davis: $30,000
(fight went to a no-decision; no win bonus awarded)

Rani Yahya: $24,000 ($12,000 to show, $12,000 to win)
Josh Grispi: $15,000

Phil De Fries: $32,000 ($16,000 to show, $16,000 to win)
Oli Thompson: $11,000

Manny Gamburyan: $36,000 ($18,000 to show, $18,000 to win)
Michihiro Omigawa: $11,000

John Moraga: $18,000 ($9,000 to show, $9,000 to win)
Ulysses Gomez: $8,000

Mauricio Rua: suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact for precautionary reasons

Brandon Vera: suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact for precautionary reasons, and also suspended 60 days with 60 days no contact (or until cleared by physician) due to a suborbital cut

Ryan Bader: suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact for precautionary reasons

Jamie Varner: suspended 180 days with 180 days no contact (or until cleared by physician) for possible fractured right hand

DaMarques Johnson: suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact for precautionary reasons, and suspended indefinitely until given neurological clearance

Mike Swick: suspended 180 days with 180 days no contact (or until cleared by physician) for right-ankle and elbow injuries, and suspended 60 days with 60 days no contact for cut on right eyelid

Cole Miller: suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact for precautionary reasons, suspended 60 days with 60 days no contact (or until cleared by physician) for right-hand and left-middle-finger injuries, as well as a suborbital cut

Wagner Prado: suspended indefinitely or until cleared by opthamologist

Oli Thompson: suspended 180 days with 180 days no contact (or until cleared by physician) for a nasal fracture

John Moraga: suspended 60 days with 60 days no contact (or until cleared by physician) for a cut on his right eyebrow

Ulysses Gomez: suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact for precautionary reasons, and suspended 60 days with 60 days no contact (or until cleared by physician) for a cut on his forehead
