Matt Hamill Ends Retirement vs. Roger Howlett & Miller vs. Pierson at UFC 152

UFC light heavyweight veteran, Matt Hamill has decided to come out of retirement quite early when he faces promotional newcomer, Roger Hollett at UFC 152 on September 22nd, 2012. UFC President Dana White confirmed the news with Yahoo! Sports and said the fighters have verbally agreed to fight each other. Another experienced veteran, Dan Miller will meet dangerous striker, Sean Pierson on that same night in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The news was revealed by the UFC and bout agreements have most likely been signed and returned at this point.

Hamill seen his five fight winning streak, which included wins over the likes of Keith Jardine and Tito Ortiz, come to an end during his last run with the UFC with back-to-back losses to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Alexander Gustafsson. Hollett is 13-3, and is currently riding a five-fight winning streak including a Bellator win over John Hawk last time out. He is also a former MFC light heavyweight champion.

Miller most recently dropped to the welterweight division following back-to-back losses to Nate Marquardt and Rousimar Palhares at 185 pounds. He started his 170 pound career off with a bang, a third round submission win over Ricardo Funch. Pierson lost back-to-back fights to Jake Ellenberger and Dong Hyun Kim, before picking up a unanimous decision win over Jake Hecht at UFC on FX 3 last time out.
