Fedor Emelianenko Officially Retires From The Sport of Mixed Martial Arts

Formerly ranked number one mixed martial artist in the world, Fedor Emelianenko has officially announced his retirement from the sport following his 84 second win over Pedro Rizzo yesterday in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Fedor, speaking via Russian news site Ria Novosti, said:

“I think it is time I quit. My family influenced my decision. My daughters are growing without me, that’s why it’s time to leave.”

Emelianenko will no doubt go down as one of the greatest, if not the greatest, heavyweight of his time, unfortunately fans did not get to see “The Last Emperor” compete against some the the top the sport has to offer inside the octagon.
