Bibiano Fernandes Not A UFC Athlete, Roland Delorme Says Take Tampon Out

DREAM bantamweight champion, Bibiano Fernandes confirms that he won’t be fighting at UFC 149 next month in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, explaining he never signed a contract with the Las Vegas based promotion in the first place.

Fernandes, speaking via his Facebook page, said:

“I would like to make perfectly clear the news concerning my involvement with the UFC. It was announced that I, Bibiano Fernandes have been contracted to fight for the organization at UFC 149 which will take place in the city of Calgary on the 21st of July. I would like to make it clear that I am not a UFC athlete as I did not sign any contract with the UFC organization. Negotiations between the UFC and myself did take place, however, we could not resolve the issues on the table and as a result we did not come to an agreement.”

His proposed UFC 149 opponent, Roland Delorme, fired back via 5thRound.com, saying:

“First off, I signed my end of the contract and I haven’t heard anything different from the UFC. Maybe when Bibiano takes his tampon out we can fight each other because I don’t know what to make of this. Like really, where else is he gonna go if you wanna fight the best in the world? There is only one place to be, and that’s the UFC. So I don’t know what he’s thinking.”
