UFC Cut Escudero, Cantwell, Curran, Rosa, Shalorus, Yang, and Lopez

The UFC have cut seven fighters from its roster this week following a stint of poor performances inside the octagon, the list includes a TUF champion, a former WEC champion, a former WEC title contender and a former Strikeforce fighter, just to name a few.

Efrain Escudero, Steve Cantwell Jeff Curran, Aaron Rosa, Kamal Shalorus, Dongi Yang, and Jorge Lopez didn’t make the cut.

Escudero who was once handed his walking papers before got his second chance in the octgon only to lose back-to-back fights to Jacob Volkmann and Mac Danzig. Cantwell is in a big slump losing five straight to Luiz Cane, Brian Stann, Cyrille Diabate, Mike Messenzio and Riki Fukuda. Curran, who had hinted he was handed another chance, this time at flyweight, also had another shot with the company only to lose back-to-back fights to Scott Jorgenson and Johnny Eduardo. Rosa lost two of his last three, defeating Matt Lucas and losing to Joey Beltran and James Te-Huna. Shalorus is riding a three fight losing streak to Jim Miller, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Rafael dos Anjos. Yang has lost three of his last four, defeating Rob Kimmons while losing out to Chris Camozzi, Court McGee, and Brad Tavares. And finally, Lopez, who has lost two straight to Amir Sadollah and Justin Edwards.
