Jon Fitch Forced Out of UFC on FUEL 4, Aaron Simpson Awaits Opponent

Former UFC welterweight title contender, Jon Fitch has been forced to out of his UFC on FUEL 4 bout with Aaron Simpson from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California on July 11th, 2012. Fitch’s trainer “Crazy” Bob Cook confirmed that a knee injury forced Fitch to withdraw from his fight against Simpson.

Fitch was looking to get his octagon career back on track after suffering only the second defeat of his UFC career, a first minute knockout to Johny Hendricks. Prior to that he was on track for a title shot after going 5-0-1 in his previous six bouts.

Simpson will be looking to make 170 pounds debut when the promotion finds a replacement. He seen his three fight winning streak come to an end when he took on Ronny Markes at UFC on FUEL 1 in early February, losing that fight via unanimous decision.
