Dana White: “Strikeforce is not going anywhere. And Gilbert Melendez is not going anywhere”

Strikeforce lightweight champion, Gilbert Melendez will not be making his move to the octagon anytime soon, after UFC president, Dana White dismissed any rumors that Striekforce may fold and Melendez may be headed to the UFC.

White, speaking on HDNet’s Inside MMA, said:

“Strikeforce is not going anywhere. And Gilbert Melendez is not going anywhere. He will fight again on Showtime.”

Melendez is one of a number of fighters Showtime insisted on staying with Strikeforce when Zuffa purchased the California based organization to keep the popularity in the brand.
