Daniel Cormier and Josh Barnett Will Compete for Strikeforce One More Time

Zuffa has planned on giving the Strikeforce heavyweight grand-prix winner one final fight on Showtime, so you will likely see Daniel Cormier one more time under the California based promotion’s banner before the year is out but now we can say the same for the man he defeated to claim the title last Saturday night.

Zuffa representatives confirmed with USA Today that former UFC heavyweight champion, Josh Barnett will also receive one more fight under the Strikeforce banner, at present neither Cormier’s or Barnett’s opponents are known.

Barnett reached the finals of the tournament with impressive submission wins over Brett Rogers and Sergei Kharitonov. Cormier came in as a replacement for Alistair Overeem going on to knock out Antonio “Big Foot” Silva before taking the decision win over Barnett to claim the grand-prix title.
