Evan Dunham Injured, Jamie Varner Returns to Face Edson Barboza at UFC 146

Former WEC lightweight champion, Jamie Varner is finally returning home to the octagon as he steps in to replace the injured Evan Dunham at UFC 146 in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 26th, taking on Edson Barboza.

Following a brief stint in the UFC, Varner moved to the WEC, where he soon became lightweight champion. Varner twice defended his belt before losing the strap to now current UFC lightweight champion, Benson Henderson. He has recently put together back-to-back wins over Drew Fickett and Nate Jolly.

Barboza carries a perfect 10-0 record, four of those wins inside the octagon. The last time out he produced a spectacular wheel kick knockout of Terry Etim at UFC 142 back in January.
