Munoz Injured; Sonnen vs. Bisping for Number One Contender at UFC on FOX 2

UFC President, Dana White just made the the announcement that Mark Munoz is injured and that Michael Bisping will now face Chael Sonnen in what will be a number one contender fight for a shot at Anderson Silva’s middleweight crown. The severity of Munoz’s injury or possible timetable for a return has yet to be revealed.

White, posting via his Twitter, said:

“Munoz is injured and out of the FOX fight! Now it’s Chael Sonnen vs Mike Bisping jan 28th and the winner will fight Anderson for the title.”

Undefeated middleweight Chris Weidman stepped up on short notice, accepting a fight against Bisping’s original opponent and former number one 185-pound contender, Demian Maia.
