Zuffa Cuts Golden Glory Camp’s Marloes Coenen, Valentijn Overeem & J.O.E

Zuffa LLC. has decided to take out their frustrations on the rest of the Golden Glory camp after they were unable to come to terms with Alistair Overeem just last week by axing a number of their fighters from both the Strikeforce and UFC roster.

Golden Glory head coach, Martin de Jong, posting via his Twitter account, said:

“I am very disappointed to let you know that Marloes Coenen, John Einemo and Valentijn Overeem have been cut from Strikeforce [and the] UFC.”

The former Strikeforce batamweight women’s champion, Marloes Coenen was defeated by Miesha Tate just this past weekend in Chicago, Illinois. Brother of the now former Strikeforce heavyweight champion, Alistair Overeem, Valentijn Overeem lost as he tapped out due to punches against Chad Griggs on June 18th in Dallas, Texas. Valentijn has been widely criticized for giving up too easily in his fights. Lastly, John Olav Einemo fought fellow UFC newcomer Dave Herman, who defeated Einemo via TKO at 3:19 of round 2 at UFC 131 on June 11th.
