Yoshihiro Akiyama forced out of Nate Marquardt fight due to earthquake, Dan Miller steps up

UFC President, Dana White revealed that Japanese superstar, Yoshihiro Akiyama will not be competing at UFC 128 next weekend in Newark, New Jersey due to the tragic earthquake that struck his home nation yesterday morning, and that Dan Miller will step in for the time being.

Dan Miller was due to face Nick Catone on the preliminary card portion of the evening but now has been bumped up to main card of the evening.

Dana White, speaking via UFC.com, said:

“New Jersey native Dan Miller proves once again that he will fight anyone, anywhere, any time by agreeing to step up from the prelims to face Nate Marquardt. Marquardt has long been a top ten ranked middleweight and Miller jumped at the opportunity to face him.”
