Wanderlei Silva vs. Brian Stann, not Chris Leben likely for Spring 2011

UFC President Dana White has confirmed that he plans to move forward with a Wanderlei Silva vs. Brian Stann match-up for Spring 2011.

Leben, who campaigned for a fight, on more than one occasion, against “The Axe Murderer” after his thrilling back-to-back wins over Aaron Simpson and Yoshihiro Akiyama in 2009, was called to duty for a UFC 125 against the former WEC champ, while Wand recovered from his surgically repaired knee and broken ribs.

Unfortunately Stann didn’t stick to the script, stopping “The Crippler” via technical knockout in the first round and now inserting himself into the Silva fight.

Though White couldn’t offer a specific date for the bout, Silva is expected to be ready to see octagon action in the spring.
