UFC Fight Night 23: Fight for the Troops 2 Official Injuries and Medical Suspensions

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation today issued its list of medical suspensions for UFC Fight Night 23: “Fight for the Troops 2,” which took place on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, from the Fort Hood Army Base in Killeen, Texas.

UFC heavyweight, Matt Mitrione and welterweight, Willamy Freire have picked up indefinite medical suspensions. “Meathead” has injured his second metacarpal in the left hand and must be cleared by a doctor, while Freire has injuries to his right hand and cheek and must be cleared by a doctor and surgeon.

The UFN 23 Suspensions:

Evan Dunham: Suspended until Feb. 22 for precautionary reasons (TKO loss)
Matt Mitrione: Suspended indefinitely due to injured second metacarpal in left hand; must be cleared by an orthopedic doctor
Tim Hague: Suspended until Feb. 22 for precautionary reasons (TKO loss)
George Roop: Suspended until Feb. 22 for precautionary reasons (TKO loss)
Willamy Freire: Suspended indefinitely due to right-hand and right-cheek injuries; must be cleared by an orthopedic doctor and maxillofacial surgeon
