UFC Dropped the Ball, Unknown Nick Diaz Shows Up 45 Minutes Late for UFC 137 Media Conference Call

Strikeforce welterweight champion, Nick Diaz turned up 45 minutes late for his UFC 137 media conference call alongside his opponent, BJ Penn, although this time it wasn’t his fault and the balme was put on the Las Vegas based promotion itself.

Diaz eventually showed up for the media conference and immediately defended his position, saying: “I didn’t even know there was a call. I was sleeping then my brother tells me there’s a call so here I am.”

UFC President Dana White backed up Diaz on his Twitter account, saying: “I’m hearing UFC dropped the ball on the Nick Diaz no show today!! SUCKS.”

Penn, speaking via today’s media conference call, said: “Nick is Nick. That has nothing to do with me. He does always show up for the fight.”
