Strikeforce to continue to use the hexagon, but elbows will now be allowed on the ground

Strikeforce will see a minor change after the California based MMA promotion was bought out by Zuffa LLC. it appears the hexagon cage will continue to be used but the unified rules of the UFC will be put in place, meaning that now you will be able to see elbows used on the ground.

UFC co-owner, Lorenzo Fertitta, speaking via MMABay.co.uk, said:

“We’ll continue to use the hexagon. The one change that we’re going to implement as promoters of this show is going to be the unified rules that we use in the UFC.”
