Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum Official Results

Strikeforce heavyweight champion, Alistair Overeem advanced to the Strikeforce grand-prix semi-finals, defeating Fabricio Werdum via unanimous decision last night in Dallas, Texas. Former UFC heavyweight champion, Josh Barnett also advanced to the Strikeforce grand-prix semi-finals with an impressive victory over slugger, Brett Rogers, winning the fight via submission in the second round.

Strikeforce lightweight contender, Jorge Masvidal booked himself a shot at the title after putting on a clinic against KJ Noons, defeating the former EliteXC 160lb champion via unanimous decision. Heavyweight up and comer, Daniel Cormier picked the biggest win of his career, defeating former UFC heavyweight title contender, Jeff Monson via unanimous decision.

Strikeforce brawler, Chad Griggs continued his rise up the heavyweight ranks with a quick first round win over Dutch submission wizard, Valentjin Overeem. The Strikeforce lightweight contest between Brazilian contender, Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante and Jason Wilcox ended in disappointing fashion after “JZ” unintentionally poked his opponent in the eye early on in the second round resulting in the fight to be ruled a no-decision.
