SpikeTV Prelim’s return for UFC 126: Cerrone vs. Kelly and Omigawa vs. Mendes

The UFC will go back to what it knows best for their preliminary card show for UFC 126 after stints on ION Television, Facebook and UFC.com, with Donald Cerrone vs. Paul Kelly, and Michihiro Omigawa vs. Chad Mendes on SPIKE TV, the hour immediately prior to the Pay-Per-View broadcast.

Since losing to Benson Henderson in a rematch of their 2009 fight of the year, Cerrone bounced back with two wins, one to bitter rival, Jamie Varner in their highly anticipated rematch at WEC 51, winning that fight via unanimous decision and most recently defeating Chris Horodecki at WEC 53 via submission in the second round. Kelly has been all over the win and loss collums since dropping to 155 pounds, defeating Rolando Delgardo, Matt Veach and T.J. O’Brien, but coming up short against Dennis Siver and Jacob Volkmann.

Omigawa is on a five fight winning streak since dropping to the featherweight division, beating Hatsu Hioki, Cole Escovedo, Marlon Sandro and Nam Phan in that time. He previously competed in the UFC’s lightweight ranks back in 2007-2008, losing back-to-back fights to Thiago Tavares and Matt Wiman at the time. Mendes is currently undefeated at 9-0 having won his last four fights inside the WEC cage. With wins over Cub Swanson and Javier Vazquez to his credit.
