Shane Carwin accused of throwing UFC 116 fight with Brock Lesnar

Former UFC interim heavyweight champion, Shane Carwin has been accused by one of his sponsors of throwing his UFC 116 main event bout with then heavyweight champion, Brock Lesnar last July in Las Vegas, Nevada, a sponsor that has since refused to pay him a dime.

Carwin broke the news via his Twitter account earlier today although he didn’t reveal who the sponsor was or how much money was withheld by that company. Carwin lost the fight after dominating the first round, knocking Lesnar down and unleashing a relentless ground and pound attack. However, in the second round, Lesnar was able to take Carwin down and apply a Arm Triangle Choke, forcing Carwin to submit.

Carwin’s management refused to comment on the sponsor only to say that it would be handled by legal channels rather than turn it public.
