Rich Franklin’s Manager Says Fans Could See Rich Franklin Back in Late Summer

J.T. Stewart, the manager of former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin, has revealed “Ace’s” recent shoulder surgery was a success and that fans should expect his return to the octagon around late summer 2012.

Stewart, speaking via MMAWeekly, said:

“I spoke with Rich, he’s feeling great and as soon as the doctor gives him the go-ahead, he’s ready to start training again. If everything goes as expected, UFC fans could see Rich Franklin back in the Octagon in late summer.”

Franklin hasn’t competed since losing a unanimous decision to Forrest Griffin at UFC 126 in February. Prior to that he’d picked up a first round knockout win over Chuck Liddell, breaking his arm in the process.
