Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante vs. Ovince St. Preux Cancelled For Strikeforce in Chicago

The light heavyweight bout between former Strikeforce middleweight champion, Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante and rising star, Ovince St. Preux has been scrapped for the July 30th card in Chicago, Illinois. Apparently the fight was never signed despite reports, both men are now expected to be booked against separate opponents in the coming weeks.

Cavalcante will be looking to rebound from a disappointing third-round TKO defeat at the hands of Dan Henderson last month. Prior to that he had won the title by stopping “King Mo” Lawal in the third round. The Haitian-American, St. Preux has been on a roll as of late, racking up his seventh win in a row professional fights including impressive victories over Antwain Britt, Benji Radach and Ron Humphrey.

Lawal hasn’t been seen since losing his Strikeforce light heavyweight title against Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante at in August of last year. Cavalcante beat him on the feet and defended well against the takedown en route to taking the 205-pound title from the man dubbed “King Mo”. Gracie is undefeated at 4-0 overall and recently picked up and impressive submission win over veteran, Trevor Prangley on the promotions January show. He also holds a win over former UFC heavyweight champion, Kevin Randleman.
