Phil Baroni cut by the UFC as expected, plans to keep on fighting

Former PRIDE veteran and now former UFC vet, Phil Baroni has been cut by the UFC as expected following his disappointing first round knockout loss to former TUF cast member, Brad Tavares this past weekend at UFC 125 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

According to Versus.com, “The New York Bad Ass” received his walking papers in the past 24 hours after picking up back-to-back losses inside the octagon to Amir Sadollah and Brad Tavares, as well as losing his last fight as part of the Strikeforce roster against Joe Riggs.

Baroni has indicated strongly that he wants to continue on in his fighting career despite the recent slump in form. First off he’ll have to serve a 60-day medical suspension for injuries sustained in Las Vegas.
