Paul Kelly becomes the latest fighter to be cut from the UFC roster

Popular brawling Brit, Paul Kelly is allegedly the latest fighter to be cut by the UFC, following his second round submission loss to Donald Cerrone at UFC 126 earlier this month.

While there has been no official confirmation from either the UFC or Kelly himself, a source very close to the promotion confirmed that he has indeed become the latest victim of the post-WEC merger trimming of the lightweight division.

The news will come as a shock to fans of Kelly, who despite a 5-4 record was known for always turning in crowd-pleasing performances, including his instant classic with Paul Taylor in his UFC debut. However with the 155 pound division’s recent influx of WEC stars, numerous cuts have been made and despite claiming a ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus for his loss to Cerrone, Kelly has dropped three of his last five contests.
