Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto vs. Damacio Page at UFC 135 in Denver, Colorado

K-1 HERO’s 2005 Middleweight Grand Prix Tournament Winner, Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto will meet former WEC contender, Damacio Page in an exciting bantamweight bout at UFC 135 in Denver, Colorado on September 24th, 2011.

Yamamoto quickly gained popularity in the Shooto organization due to his aggressive, well-rounded style and controversial persona. He moved on to K-1 HERO’S, where he won the Middleweight tournament in December, 2005 after defeating Genki Sudo via a controversial TKO due to punches. “KID” made his UFC debut against Demetrious Johnson, losing the fight via unanimous decision at UFC 126. He was expected to face Chris Cariaso on May 28th at UFC 130. However, Yamamoto was forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced by Michael McDonald.

Page is in desperate need of a win after losing to Demetrious Johnson at WEC 52 and former opponent Brian Bowles on March 3rd at UFC Live: Sanchez vs. Kampmann, losing via first round guillotine choke for the second time against Bowles at exactly the same time as their first fight. His last win was a submission victory over Will Campuzano back at WEC 43 in October 2009.
