Mixed feelings about Fedor Emelianenko ever stepping foot inside the UFC octagon

UFC President, Dana White admits that he can’t gaurentee a day when formerly ranked number one fighter in the world, Fedor Emelianenko steps foot inside the UFC’s octagon even though the Russian is now under contract with Zuffa LLC. On the other side of the coin, M-1 Global executive, Evangi Kogan has dismissed any possible suggestion that Zuffa LLC. has any hold over Fedor Emelianenko after purchaseing the California based promotion, Strikeforce earlier this week.

Speaking via Yahoo! Sports, Dana said:

“I don’t see any irony … Even though Fedor is now under contract with Zuffa, I still have a hard time imagining he’ll ever fight in the UFC. We’ll see, but that’s my bet right now. There are few fights, though, that can’t be made now. And that’s the good thing. You know me … I’m as big a fan of this as anybody and I love making the fights that everyone wants to see. At the end of the day, it’s all about making great fights and the fights the people want to see. That’s what we’re doing.”

Speaking via MMAWeekly.com, Kogan said:

“Fedor’s contract is with Showtime Networks Inc and we’re excited to be working with such a premium North American outlet. The purchase of Strikeforce doesn’t affect M-1 at all. Our TV deal is with Showtime and we’re happy. It’s business as usual for M-1 Global as we close into our March 25th event.”
