Former lightweight King Of Pancrase, Maximo Blanco will be jumping ship to the UFC and moving down to the featherweight division after coming up short in his Strikeforce debut this past weekend in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Blanco’s manager, Brian Butler-Au of SuckerPunch Entertainment, confirmed the news today, explaining the 27-year old fighter has been moved from the Strikeforce lightweight division to the UFC featherweight division effective immediately.

The Venezuelan mixed martial artist lost via submission in the second round to Pat Healy this past weekend after a spirited yet controversial first round which saw him lose a point for an illegal series of kicks.
