Mark Scanlon Injured, John Maguire vs. James Head at UFC 138 in Birmingham

UK welterweight, Mark Scanlon has been forced to out of his UFC 138 bout with James Head in Birmingham, England on November 5th, in a quick move he has been replaced by another British fighter and promotional newcomer, John Maguire.

Maguire is riding a five-fight winning streak coming into the octagon including a notable win over former “Ultimate Fighter” veteran, Dean Amasinger. He is also the reigning UCMMA welterweight champion.

Head opened his mixed martial arts career with a 7-1 run which included an impressive unanimous decision win over Gerald Harris outside of the UFC. His octagon debut not so well, losing to Nick Ring just last month via submission.
