Mackens Semerzier Injured, Antonio Carvalho vs. Yuri Alcantara at UFC 134

Former WEC fighter, Mackens Semerzier picked up an injury in training forcing him to withdraw from his UFC 134 bout with Yuri “Marajo” Alcantara in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on August 27th, 2011. The news was revealed to Tatame Magazine along with news that Canadian prospect Antonio “Pato” Carvalho will step in and make his UFC debut against Alcantara.

Carvalho is currently 13-4 is a Shooto veteran who has fought for TKO Major League MMA, Maximum Fighting Championship, Ironheart Crown, Cage Force and Warrior-1 MMA. Antonio is one of four people to have defeated Hatsu Hioki. He was last seen in action just last week when he defeated former UFC fighter, Douglas Evans via unanimous decision.

Yuri Alcantara is a Brazilian who has been a professional MMA competitor since 2004, Alcantara mostly fought in Brazil before signing with World Extreme Cagefighting to take part in their final event before the merger with the UFC, where he defeated Ricardo Lamas via KO in the very first round.
