Junior dos Santos will fight for UFC interim heavyweight title, opponent TBD

The current UFC heavyweight number one contender, Junior dos Santos will indeed compete for the UFC heavyweight interim championship after all following the shoulder injury that ruled out current champion, Cain Velasquez for up to eight months.

According to Kevin Iole of Yahoo!Sports.com, “Cigano” will compete for the title in the coming months after initially thinking the promotion wouldn’t make the move.

Speculation as of now is that former UFC heavyweight champion, Brock Lesnar will return to face the heavy handed dos Santos, as well as the last man to hold the interim heavyweight title, Shane Carwin.
