Jose Aldo vs. Chad Mendes could headline UFC 133 in Philadelphia, PA

UFC featherweight champion, Jose Aldo could be back in action as early as August after it was revealed he could face undefeated top contender, Chad Mendes at UFC 133 in Philadelphia on August 6th, 2011.

Dana White, speaking at the UFC 129 post-fight press conference, said:

“That’s a curveball for me right now, (but) I think we’re looking at Jose possibly fighting Philly.”

Aldo, speaking at the UFC 129 post-fight press conference, said:

“To me, I’m not sure if that’s the fight or not. I just want to take a week off and just think about it and rest my body. But I’m an employee, and whoever (Dana White) wants me to fight, that’s who I’ve got to go and take out. So I’m prepared to fight whoever they put in front of me any time.”

“Every one of my fights are difficult. I respect all of my opponents and I prepare for all of my fights the same way. So I think this fight tonight just shows that I’m not only a guy that can knock people out quick, that I have the heart to go all five rounds and still hold on.”
