Jorge Santiago Released From the UFC Roster for the Second Time in His Career

Former Sengoku middleweight champion, Jorge Santiago has once again been cut from the UFC roster following back-to-back losses inside the octagon during the course of 2011.

Tatame Magazine confirmed the news first after speaking to a source close to the situation earlier today.

On February 8th, 2011, Santiago requested and was granted his release from World Victory Road. On February 16th, he signed a multi-fight contract to return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Santiago lost in his UFC return to Brian Stann at UFC 130 via TKO in the second round. Santiago then lost by unanimous decision to Demian Maia at UFC 136. Following the loss to Maia, Santiago was subsequently released from the promotion.
