Jon Fitch Injured, forced out of UFC 132 rematch with BJ Penn on July 2nd

UFC welterweight contender, Jon Fitch has been forced to pull out of his UFC 132 rematch with BJ Penn after picking up an injury in training earlier this week. It is not known at this time exactly what the injury is, however it is presumed to be rather serious considering the two weren’t scheduled to meet until July 2nd in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The two battled to a draw at UFC 127 which presented Dana White and company with a problem as far as finding a number one contender for the welterweight title.

The search is underway to find a replacement for Fitch, that’s even if the promotion will look for a replacement or move this bout to a later card.
