Jon Fitch Cleared to Fight, Could Meet Johny Hendricks at UFC 139 on Nov. 19th

Former UFC welterweight title contender, Jon Fitch has been cleared to return to action after undergoing surgery on his shoulder earlier this year, with one possible opponent rumoured in fast-rising 170 pounder, Johny Hendricks at UFC 139 in San Diego, California on November 19th, 2011.

Fitch, posting via his Twitter account, said:

“I’m back! Dr. Kavitne gave me the OK to fight.”

Fitch will be looking to return to the winning column after drawing with former two-time champion, BJ Penn in February. Prior to that he’d defeated Thiago Alves for a second time via unanimous decision. Hendricks continued his impressive run inside the octagon when he pulled off a unanimous decision win over Mike Pierce on the UFC 133 show earlier this month. He also holds a win over “Ultimate Fighter” season seven winner, Amir Sadollah.
