Brown was expected to stay on the UFC 138 card but has been pushed back two weeks where he wll face Seth Baczynski at UFC 139 on November 19th in San Jose, California. UK heavyweight, Rob Broughton has agreed to step in at short notice and face promotional newcomer, Philip De Fries on the UFC 138 card after his team mate, Oli Thompson, also picked up an injury during training.

Brown is coming of a much needed win against John Howard in June. He had previously lost three straight against Ricardo Almeida, Chris Lytle and Brian Foster. Baczynski was cut from the UFC after losing his season eleven finale bout to fellow cast member, Brad Tavares. After putting together a couple of wins he returned to the octagon to defeat Clay Harvison via submission.

Broughton is coming off a tough defeat to Travis Browne, where he was taken down at will at UFC 135 and worked over for fifteen minutes.
