Joe Lauzon vs. Anthony Pettis Moved to UFC 144 in Saitama, Japan on Feb. 25th

The potential lightweight number one contenders bout between the always slick, Joe Lauzon and former WEC lightweight champion, Anthony Pettis has been moved from UFC 143 in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 5th, 2012 to UFC 144 in Saitama, Japan on February 25th, 2012. The Las Vegas based promotion made the announcement today, adding official bout agreements have now been inked.

Lauzon burst back into the title picture after defeating Melvin Guillard at UFC 136 last month picking up the “Submission of the Night” bonus for his troubles.

Pettis is coming off a split decision win over Jeremy Stephens that same night, coming up short in the first only to turn it all around for the remainder of the fight exhibiting his excellent grappling to get the nod from the judges.
