Hayato “Mach” Sakurai vs. Marius Zaromskis at DREAM 17 in Tokyo, Japan

Japanese legend, Hayato “Mach” Sakurai will make his return to the ring when he faces DREAM champion, Marius Zaromskis in a non-title welterweight bout at DREAM 17 in Tokyo, Japan on July 16th, a rematch of when the two men first met back in 2009. The news was revealed by the Japanese based promotion earlier today, placing it alongside the all-Japanese bantamweight grand-prix tournament final on the card.

Sakurai currently on a four-fight losing streak which began when he first faced Zaromskis, a fight round TKO loss. Since then he has come up short against Akihiro Gono, Nick Diaz and Jason High.

Zaromskis has lost 3 of his last five fights, losing out to both Nick Diaz and Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos inside the Strikeforce cage. He got back to winning ways over the New Year’s period with a TKO win over another Japanese MMA legend, Kazushi Sakuraba and as well as racking up a no contest against Waachiim Spiritwolf.
