Gabriel Gonzaga returns to face Josh Burns on June 25th in Las Vegas, Nevada

Former UFC heavyweight title contender, Gabriel Gonzaga has agreed to come out of retirement to face Josh Burns at MMA event Explosions in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 25th, 2011.

Gonzaga was defeated by Junior dos Santos on March 21st, 2010 at UFC LIVE: Vera vs. Jones, with Gonzaga losing via knockout in the very first round. He hasn’t fought since losing out to Brendan Schaub via unanimous decision October of last year. It was his second defeat in a row prompting the promotion to part ways with the ultra-talented Brazilian and ultimately forcing him to make the decision to hang up his gloves once and for all.

The greatest moment of his career was the head-kick knockout of former PRIDE Open Weight Grand Prix Champion, Mirko Cro Cop at UFC 70 in Manchester, England.
