Former WWE Champion, Bobby Lashley Signs with Shark Fights Promotion

Bobby Lashley (6-1 MMA) has signed a 3 year deal with MMA promotion Shark Fights. Lashley had been training with Josh Barnett as of late as he looks to build his MMA reputation. As Shark Fights most recognizable name, a lot of pressure will be on Lashley.

SLashley, spaking via Fox News, said:

“It’s going to give me the opportunity to get some more fights under my belt.”

The former WWE and TNA wrestler was a free agent on the MMA scene as of late. Lashley last appeared in WWE against Mr. Kennedy (now Mr. Anderson) back in July 2007, his official release came in February 2008. Since then he has been working the indy scene and had a brief stint with TNA whilst having an MMA career.

Shark Fights CEO Bud Brutsman wants the company to become the number 3 MMA promotion and feels that signing Lashley will help accomplish that. Brutsman told Fox Sports today: “It’s going to be big for us. When you’re a little organization you need to make some noise, and Bobby is the perfect one to make some noise. There is nobody better than him right now that’s out there.”
