Darrill Schoonover Pulls Out of Lashley Fight, Search for Replacement Begins, Championship Remains on the Line

Shark Fights heavyweight champion, Darrill Schoonover has forced out of his Shark Fights 21 title bout with former wrestling champion, Bobby Lashley in Lubbock, Texas on November 11th, 2011, a search for a replacement is now in the works. A source close to the situation revealed the news today, adding Lashley’s fight is expected to remain a title fight despite Schoonover being the champion.

Lashley was last seen in March, picking up a lacklustre unanimous decision win over John Ott at Titan Fighting Championship 17. Prior to that he looked even more terrible against Chad Griggs inside the Strikeforce cage.

Schoonover, the current Shark Fights heavyweight champion, is coming off a first round TKO win over Adam Padilla in July. Prior to that he’d lost five fights straight including a third round TKO defeat at James McSweeney on the TUF 10 Finale.
