Dan Henderson vs. Fedor Emelianenko “Super-Fight” live on CBS in April?

Dan Henderson just last weekend demolished Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante with a flurry of punches at “Strikeforce: Feijao vs. Henderson” to become the promotion’s new light heavyweight champion and he’ll give it one more go early this summer before taking time off to be with his family. The opponent looks like a super fight in the making as formerly ranked number one fighter in the world, Fedor Emelianenko is set to reinvent himself and move down in weight to take on the newly crowned Strikeforce light heavyweight champion.

Sources close to the Russian’s camp revealed that Fedor is “giving serious consideration” to fighting “Hendo” later this year. “The Last Emperor” has always been a small heavyweight and this could be exactly what he needs to reinvigorate his career. Fedor was last in action just last month when he was defeated by Brazilian monster, Antonio “Big Foot” Silva via doctors stoppage.

Fanhouse reports:

“A CBS spokesperson informed FanHouse on Tuesday that the network will broadcast its fifth MMA event next year, and that it will most likely air during the month of the April. While no specific date or venue has been made official, Fedor Emelianenko and Dan Henderson have agreed to compete on the card. Their opponents have yet to be signed.”

Henderson, speaking via MMAjunkie.com, said:

“Obviously, he’s still one of the top guys out there in the world, and it would be a huge challenge. It would interest me to go up.”
