Damacio Page & “KID” Yamamoto Off UFC 135, Medical Insurance Covers Page’s $30,000 Neck Surgery

UFC bantamweight, Damacio Page has pulled out of his UFC 135 clash with Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto due to a serious neck injury, an injury that would have cost him $30,000, that’s if the promotions medical insurance hadn’t covered it. His opponent, Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto is also forced off the UFC 135 card after he as well picked up an injury in training last month.

This from MMAWeekly.com:

“Because of the new UFC medical insurance that covers fighters under contract to the promotion, Page’s surgery, which according to his manager would have cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $25 to $30,000, was covered. The medical insurance kicked in earlier this year and was a revolutionary step for combat sports.”
