Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos vs. Hiroko Yamanaka at Strikeforce on Dec. 17th

Women’s featherweight champion, Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos will defend her 145 pound crown against Japanese prospect, Hiroko Yamanaka at the yet to be announced December 17th Strikeforce event. The California based promotion made the announcement last night during the Strikeforce Challengers 19 broadcast.

Santos hasn’t been seen in the Strikeforce cage since she handed out a one sided beat down of Jan Finney last June. She also holds notable stoppage wins over the likes of Marloes Coenen and Gina Carano.

Yamanaka is riding an impressive eight fight winning streak and is a veteran of the Jewels and Smackgirl promotions in Japan. She is 12-1 overall with her lone loss coming at the hands of Hitomi Akano in April 2008, a loss she later avenged.
