Clay Guida steps up to face Anthony Pettis at either UFC 130 or 131

In what can be called the new UFC lightweight number one contender fight, UFC lightweight livewire, Clay Guida gets the call and biggest opportunity of his octagon career when he faces WEC 155 pound champion, Anthony Pettis at either UFC 130 or UFC 131 early this summer.

Pettis was set to take on the winner of the UFC 125 title rematch between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard, but an immediate rematch was ordered after the two battled to a draw. Pettis was last seen defeating Benson Henderson via unanimous decision and winning the WEC title in the process at WEC 53 in December.

Guida is on his best run to date with the UFC coming off three submission wins in a row, including Shannon Gugerty, Rafael dos Anjos and most recently former PRIDE lightweight champion, Takanori Gomi at UFC 125 on January 1st.
