Chael Sonnen Cannot Reapply For Licence In California Until May 18th, 2012, Possible To Face Michael Bisping In UK?

Former UFC middleweight title contender, Chael Sonnen has been informed that he cannot reapply for his licence with the California State Athletic Commission until May 18th 2012, effectively ruling him out of fighting in any of the major states across America.

The commission put a timeline in place earlier today revealing Sonnen’s suspension will run through his current license expires on June 29th, 2011. At that point Sonnen will not be able to re-apply for a new license in the state until at least May 18th, 2012 and on top of it there are no guarantees he will have it re-issued anyhow.

The move by the commission will of course give the fighter a chance to compete wherever there isn’t an athletic commission in place, meaning there is hope of seeing Chael Sonnen vs. Michael Bisping in the UK on the UFC October card.
